LG Simpure L2 Cell Phone Images

Designed by Gwenael Nicolas, the man behind Nintendo GBA’s sleek and stylish design, the “Simpure L2″ is one of the hottest upcoming cell phone from LG. Weighs at just 110 grams, this baby is equipped with a 2.2-inch display with a resolution of 176×220, an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera module, and DoCoMo’s World Wing (GSM/GPRS/3G). Not much detail about this elegant handset at the moment, but I’ll definitely keep my eye on this slider phone.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100 Digital Camera Images

Panasonic has just announced the launch of its new 12.2 megapixel digital camera, Lumix DMC-FX100 model. This compact digicam boasts the ability to record movie in HD (High-Definition format) at a resolution of 1280 x 720 @ 15fps. Unfortunately, it is only equipped with a 27MB onboard memory, so users will definitely need to use SD media card for storing those fat HD video. When it comes to still image, FX100 can take photo in 4:3 mode and 16:9 widescreen mode for a whopping 4000 x 2248 image resolution.

That’s right.

There have been so many buyouts… amazing.

I just read that CBS has purchased LastFM for $280 Million.

I use LastFM, I enjoy it….. seeing what I listen to mostly. I don’t really use any of the features that would suggest new music.

I’m usually pretty fussy on what I really like….. although I do like a very wide variety of music genres.

Elecom Wii Gamepad Images

Elecom presents two new accessories for your Nintendo Wii. One is a silicon case for the WiiMote that comes with a “handle” on its back. This way, gamers can hold the Wiimote firmly and don’t have to worry about the flying Wiimote while playing bowling on Wii Sports. As for the second accessories, it’s a case that will transform the Wiimote into regular controller like the Playstation’s gamepad.

The plot is starting to thicken ahead of HTC’s press conference on the fifth of June — and as we suggested before, it appears that the company does indeed have its sights set on stealing some of Apple’s thunder. As far as consumer electronics releases go, the crown for the month of June had pretty much been handed to the iPhone; yeah, pretty much any Apple release is considered something of a landmark event, but one of the iPhone’s big draws is its support for multi-touch. So what if HTC were to announce its own multi-touch device — based on the lovely Elf — just days before the iPhone’s release? A little deflating for Apple, yeah? Smartphone Thoughts is reporting that HTC plans to introduce said device at its June 5th event with the intention of releasing it quickly on a global scale. Microsoft was showing off its “Shift” touch-based interface not long ago; while we don’t know that the rumored HTC device uses it, this could all work out very nicely indeed considering the cozy relationship Microsoft and HTC enjoy.

We just got our grubby little paws on that new Palm Foleo. We’ll give you one guess about what we think. Ok, ok, look, it’s an interesting device and an interesting concept, and we’re long-time Palm fans. We like the scroll wheel, the keyboard and screen were very nice, and the browser works excellently (and with Flash! see the gallery). It’s wonderful that it works so well with your phone and all of that business, but we just can’t get behind this one. We need a better Treo, or we need a Foleo or like device that replaces your Treo — we don’t want both. No ifs, ands, or buts. We already have a laptop, and when you consider the fact that this thing is about the size and weight of a Dell X1 (ok, maybe a little larger), the user just doesn’t have a whole lot of reason to take one of these home. Ah whatever, Palm never listens to us anyway. Enjoy the gallery!

It looks like those intrigued by Leapfrog’s Fly pentop computer but turned off by its “toy” status will soon have an option that’s a little more in line with their sensibilities, as The New York Times reports that a former executive at Leapfrog has now branched out on his own to produce a similar device aimed at adults. Set to make its debut at this week’s D conference, the pen from Jim Marggraff’s newly-founded Livescribe company is apparently a “more advanced” version of the Fly computer, relying on the same dot-laden paper to capture whatever you write or draw with it. The pen also packs two microphones to record what it hears while you writing, which can be played back simply by tapping on the paper. Marggraff thinks that’ll make the pen particularly well-suited to students, although he not surprisingly sees virtually endless uses for the device, saying that it’ll appeal to “anyone that is writing notes on paper.” While the pen’s only just making its first public appearance now, it doesn’t look like you’ll have to wait too much longer to actually get your hands on one, with it set to be released sometime this fall for under $200.

As rumored, the big new device that’s Palm’s Jeff Hawkins has chosen to announce at the D conference today is the Palm Foleo, which the company is billing as a “mobile companion.” Boasting a 10-inch widescreen display and a full-size keyboard, the device is intended to be used in conjunction with your smartphone, with any edits to documents made on one device automatically reflected on the other thanks to the device’s Bluetooth connectivity. The device also promises to turn on “instantly,” boasts built-in WiFi, and should last about 5 hours on a single charge. The pricing and release info leaked out earlier also look to have been spot on, with it now officially set to be released sometime this summer for $500 (after a $100 mail-in rebate). We’ll have plenty more pics of it shortly, but for now you can check out one more after the break.

We’ve seen 256GB and even 512GB SSD drives before, but they’ve so far been confined to the larger 3.5-inch form factor — not exactly the ideal solution to fulfill our dream of an all-SSD laptop with more storage than we’re ever likely to use. Well, it looks like Taiwanese manufacturer PQI is starting to bring that excessively-demanding dream a little closer to reality, recently unveiling a 2.5-inch SSD drive with a full 256GB of storage space. Unfortunately, there’s no word on what it’ll cost, although we’re sure it’ll be enough to dampen our enthusiasm considerably. That’s apparently not all PQI has up its sleeve though, with the company also set to release a 32GB SSD ExpressCard, a 32GB 1.8-inch SSD drive, and a high-speed 16GB CompactFlash card for good measure.

AT&T BlackBerry CurveAT&T is the iPhone’s exclusive distributor, and it looks like it will also be distributing an iPhone rival. RIM’s BlackBerry Curve is the Pearl’s wider, full-QWERTY successor. This is the same BlackBerry announced earlier by Rogers Canada. It has a 107mm x 60mm x 15.5mm form factor weighting 11 grams. It uses GSM/GPRS/EDGE and boasts a 2 megapixel camera. Memory extension is via a microSD slot with a capacity of up to 4GB. It will be selling for $199 with two-year contract with data plans starting at $30.

The Curve has gotten rave reviews, especially for its style and functionality and media capabilities.

With RIM’s best BlackBerry and Apple’s first phone to be both available for AT&T customers, it will be not be far out to say that it will have more dominance in the U.S. market which it already leads. AT&T stocks jumped at least $.50 after it has made the BlackBerry Curve officially available to customers.

Unknown iPhone features

Believe it or not, AT&T will offer its iPhone customers rebates which would significantly bring down the iPhone price tags of $499 and $599.

The revelation comes from the unassuming Vim3 weblog, which as I write this has just been taken out of commission by the traffic it’s attracting. Now, I don’t know who authors this blog, and there is no biographical information of any kind anywhere in the site. The claims are very plausible, however, and there is an air of authority (or at least a knowledgeableness in his writing).

The reason to withheld the following features of the iPhone was apparently to protect iPod sales. A cursory look at the items and supposed first-gen iPod features will make it clear why we could begin thinking about iPod’s funeral.

1.More flash storage than previously announced
2. Bottom part of the iPhone slides out giving access to the battery. It’s very important for the first iteration, especially if the user interface hangs a lot
3.The iPhone will use a faster 802.11n instead of 802.11g Wi-Fi
4. You can purchase from iTunes using Wi-Fi
5. Streaming from iTunes is also supported
6. Price rebates are available from AT&T
7. OS X has iWork and iLife suites. Apparently, you can view and edit Word and Excel documents.
